Heussenstamm. Raum für Kunst und Stadt

Unsere große Gruppenausstellung „Lockdown. Kunst und Krise“ geht in die nächste Phase.  Wie schon bei Teil 1 ziehen sich einige thematische rote Fäden durch die Ausstellung. Künstlerische Bearbeitungen der Themen der Pandemie, die uns seit über einem Jahr im Griff hat. Das Fenster etwa taucht mehrmals als Motiv auf, das Social Distancing, das Experimentieren mit neuen Materialien oder dem, was noch vorhanden ist, prägt viele Arbeiten. Auch die eigene Rolle als Kunstschaffende in der Gesellschaft wird reflektiert. Vertreten sind in diesem 2. Teil ausgesprochen viele malerische Arbeiten, die eine Gegenthese zu der fortschreitenden Digitalisierung unserer Lebenswelt formulieren. Zudem sind installative und performative Positionen zu sehen und zu hören.

The large group exhibition “Lockdown. Art and Crisis” goes into the next phase. Exhibition views of all three floors are made available on the website, on Facebook, on Instagram and on YouTube.
Artistic adaptations of the themes of the pandemic that has had us under control for over a year is the red thread of the exhibition. It also reflects on one's own role as an artist in society. In this second part of the exhibition a large number of painterly works can be seen, that formulate a counter-thesis to the progressive digitization of our living environment. In addition, installative and performative positions have been presented. The history of the Heussenstamm-Stiftung begins in 1912. The Frankfurt local politician Dr. Carl Jacob Moritz Heussenstamm, former mayor, decreed in his will that the foundation of his name should stand up for “artists and intellectual workers as well as the subdued poor”. This task has shaped the profile ever since. The Heussenstamm Foundation acts where art, city and social affairs meet.
